"A FRAME OF MIND"

Finding New Customers and Prospecting for New Team members is "A FRAME OF MIND"

Do you believe in yourself, your company, and your products? Then here are some ways to get the word out…

  • Tailgating: Bring about 4 people. Put a small display in the back of a van. Bring door prize slips, pens, hostess packets, catalogs, and your datebook.

  • Warm Calls: People you have something in common with. (Church mailing list, PTA List, bowling league, friends, relatives)

  • Hot Calls: Party guests, past hostesses, service leads.

  • Postal Mailings: Mail personal notes Hostess Special Flyers and follow-up with a call one week later.

  • E-mailing: Send a note that would pertain to your Customers. Example - if you have a clothing product, skin care, health – send them a tip.

Q & A, Biz Building Tips & Ideas

Q.  How to make Customer Care Calls?

A.  Personalized customer service sets you apart from all the others and leads to long-term, profitable relationships with your customers. Set a goal to make 2 customer service calls a day and watch your business explode!
Here just a few reasons to call your previous customers and hostess. Start making those calls today!  read more .....

Q.  There are lots of things I can think of doing to grow my Avon business but I have 3 kids at home and they demand a lot of my time.  Any suggestions?

A.  Use the power of 3 and get out and TALK to people. There are SO many
people LOOKING for our kind of business. Do not pre-judge! If the
person is living and breathing..... say HI.

Take the kids to the park. A little fresh air is good for you all... strike up a conversation with the other moms while the kids play. Hand out books and point out some of the scented pages. Have some Imari Seduction samples with you stuck to your business card. Form a play group to meet again and get their names and numbers - NOW you have contact info!

Tip: Wear an AVON name badge.  It helps to identify you as an Avon Representative, and make you look more professional.  Order one from Avon Advantage partners on youravon.com.

A.  It's on your web site, Personal Beauty System. You pay to access it for a year. It's an amazing sales tool that people frequently overlook because it isn't free. It pays for itself with your first couple of customers who use it.

My first new customer ordered $150 in skin care based on the recommendations she received. You either invite them to take the survey by giving them a web address or ask them the questions over the phone and then email the recommendations to them - lots of ways to use it. At every grand opening for my downline we have new customers all take the survey. They buy more, no doubt about it, because it is customized for them.

Give them a gift first

And that means Avon samples. Remember, giving a sample is also an easy way to dispel the normal fears felt by many salespeople. Remember, you are giving away something that has value, and the very act of giving something of value first before asking for any commitment to buy is a big step toward creating a trusting relationship. Having products in sample form also demonstrates the prestige and

professionalism of both you and Avon and your Customer will be delighted at the chance to try the world famous Avon products, possibly even for the first time.

Idea:

Here's another idea to help you get new customers.  Maria Gouveia arranged with the owner to set up a table at her Curves club she belongs to.  It's a great way to let people see a sampling of our Avon products and gain new customers.  Have plenty of books and samples on hand.

You could do this at health clubs, spas, businesses in their lunch or employee lounge area, hospital etc.

When you're out shopping for gift wrap to wrap all your Avon gifts, give the cashier an Avon brochure.  How about your hair stylist?  I'll bet she/he would love an Avon brochure.  Who else can you think of to give an Avon brochure?  I know you can think of more places to give out brochures.  How about the checker at the grocery store?  The bagger or the person who takes your groceries to your car?

Give your neighbors a brochure and when you drive through the fast-food drive-through grabbing lunch on the fly, give a brochure to the girl who takes your money.  Going through the drive-through at the bank to deposit all your Avon sales money?  Ask the person who is taking your deposit if they would like an Avon brochure.

Let's give our Customers the very best Avon service they deserve this holiday season and reach out to find new Customers by asking your current Customers for referrals, or give your Customers a couple of extra brochures and ask them to give them to their friends.

Instead of returning those new products your Customer decided not to buy . . . Sell them at a discount to get your money back!  I sell returned products all the time at a discount.  I will email my Customers a note and let them know I have a product that I would like to sell at a discount instead of returning it to Avon.  If I bought a product at $10 customer price, I'll sell it at my cost. Try it.

Storing Samples … Help!

Question: I currently have all my samples bunched up in a drawer and being the neat freak that I am I would like to know if anyone has a 'system' they use to organize their samples and their inventory.
Any ideas or assistance would be much appreciated.
Thanks!!

Representative Reply: Avon now offers a really cool "sample wallet" for only one dollar!  You'll find it in the Tools section of the Purchase Order online under Campaign Literature.

Representative Reply: I bought one of the organizers in the tool department. You know, the plastic ones with the little drawers that men use for small screws, nails, etc.

Representative Reply:
I also use a small tackle box when I take my samples with me. It's tiny, and doesn't look like a tackle box, but it's great for keeping them organized.
Trish

Representative Reply: Lowe's sells (and I’m sure you can get them at any hardware store) a drawer storage unit. I found
mine in the home organization department. The small drawers (that have catches so they don't fall out!) are the perfect size for most of Avon's samples (skin care, fragrance, lipstick).

Representative Reply: These will also go on sale around school time in Office Max and Staples. I got a few of them for $10 each - they have six skinny drawers which are PERFECT for samples. I then cut strips of cardboard from the boxes to separate rows of samples. Three rows fit in one drawer. I also have the deeper drawer ones too - they are great for everything!

Representative Reply: I bought some craft organizers with dividers that are just perfect for samples. They have dividers that can be moved to make each compartment the size you need. They
are clear plastic and even have a carrying handle.  They came in different sizes. The ones I bought are about 9X13 and approximately 2 1/2 inches deep. I'm not sure the brand but it may have been Rubbermaid. I bought them a couple of years ago at Hobby Lobby or
Wal-Mart I can't remember which. Good Luck,
Bertha

Representative Reply: I picked one of those tackle-type boxes from Wal-Mart - with the little sections? They also have similar ones at fabric stores, too.
Nancy

Representative Reply: I got some plastic drawers like at Target. They have three drawers per unit. I then put little plastic baskets in there and set up the samples so I can read what is on top.

Representative Reply: I bought bullet cases to organize the lipsticks! And then put those in Ziploc storage tubs.

Representative Reply: I organize excess inventory in Avon boxes according to price. I have: $1.00, $2.00, $3.00, $5.00, and $10. Then I have a box of Clinical and a box of skin care. I wrapped the boxes using really cute gift wrap. I made signs out of paint stirrers and little neon signs from Office Depot. Then whenever I want to go to a flea market or garage sale, my boxes are ready and set up is easy. They stack really nicely for storage too.

Representative Reply: I purchased the Creative Memories Scrapbook Keeper with the poly  organizer pages. It works great, because I can add and subtract  pages with ease and select the size of the pockets that I think is  best, it's all in one book and easy to carry on deliveries and to  shows with me. Contact your local CM lady, she can help you out. I  got mine for about $25.00. I love it.

Representative Reply: This might be kind of expensive, but when I want to give out a bug guard sample I give out the wipes. I won several last years at AVON  meetings, so that is what I found.

Representative Reply: I have like a small tackle box, or clear tool box that has partitions that is used like to separate like screws and nails. It works great and is compact. Give it a try.

IDEAS TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS

Here's an idea to grow your business without even being present:

I just purchased a new tool from http://www.winnerinyou.com/salesaids/  It's a business card caddie box.  It is so cool. I love it.

I purchased a clear acrylic window hook

as well and it is secure on the window.  Plus, it's rain proof too.  So, while you're away from your car potential customers and/or recruits can take your business card!  (I hope you all have business cards!)

This works so well and a great addition to the magnetic signs I have on each side of my car.

The Six Most Commonly Made Business Introduction Faux Pas

by Marian Gellatly Image Ctr Director DSWA

1. Wearing your nametag on your left side rather than high on your right shoulder.
2. Remaining seated rather than standing when someone approaches you.
3. Not repeating the name of the person you’ve just met and using it atleast once during the conversation.
4. For men: shaking a woman’s “fingers”rather than her hand.
5. For women: giving a “dead fish” handshake, rather than one that is firm.
6. For women: not shaking hands with business associates you meet outside a business setting—shopping malls, grocery stores—asyou would during a business session.
